EdVenture Class Openings

Aloha, Everyone!  Thank you very much to the parents and families who showed up early in the morning on Friday, Feb 10th for Edventure Registration:
There are still some seats available in a number of classes.  Please see the attached flyer for the details!  Also, there is a new class just opened up today:
"Math Art" - taught by Mrs. Kristen Doolittle for Grades K-2 on Mondays.  Registration fee is $35.00.  In this class, the students will be creating art originals 
using Math skills.  Don't forget - seats are limited - so call today!  Please contact:  Cecily Nago, PCNC @ 974-4855 ext 301 OR call, txt 896-1561.

EdVenture Registration Spring 2017

Aloha, Parents and students:
Spring Registration will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 7-8 a.m. in the library.  (Please see attached form)  As a reminder, please do not turn in registration form and fees to the school office.  Forms and fees will only be accepted on Feb. 10 at registration.  If you are interested in pre-registration, please consider becoming a PTA executive board member or chairing one of our PTA events. Mahalo for your kokua.  ***Please note:  Just added:  "A Whale of a Time" ceramics class for Grades 1-2 on Tuesdays.  Registration fee:  $45.00.  Grade level change:  Super Bee Garden:  Grades 3-6.***  

Pre-K Summer Program at E.B.

Aloha!  Principal O'Brien recently announced that E.B. deSilva Elementary will be offering a Pre-K Summer Program for summer 2017.  The program is designed for incoming Kindergarteners who have little or no preschool experience.  The goal of the program is to help Pre-K students develop skills and school experience to prepare them for a successful Kindergarten year.  Interest form is attached and the deadline for submitting is Friday, February 10th.  Please call the school office for more information at 974-4855.

Local Products 2 Ladies Kitchen Mochi Pick up

The owner at 2 Ladies Kitchen is extending the deadline of mochi/manju pick up through Saturday, December 24, 2016 for the EB deSilva Local Products Fundraiser.  Please call in large orders ahead of time.  

Winter Camp Eureka at Hilo High School

Aloha, Parents and students:  Hilo Viking Robotics Club will be hosting the Winter Camp Eureka for students 8-14 years of age from Dec. 27-30.  The interactive 4 day camp will focus on structure based on hawaiian structures as well as building robots.  Space is limited, so sign up quickly!
This event is a fundraiser for the Hilo Viking Robotics Club.

Astronaut Ellison Onizuka Science Day at UHHilo

Aloha, E.B. Parents and students:
Students in grades 4-12, parents and teachers of any grade level are invited to attend the FREE Astronaut Ellison Onizuka Science Day on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at UH Hilo.  Among this year's highlights are:  a selection from 18 science workshops, 18 interactive displays, TMT VEX IQ robotics tournament finals, Diffraction of Light Extravaganza, and an Astronaut Keynote speaker.  This year's event promises to be  great.  Spaces will be filling quickly, so sign-up  for best chances to attend!

EdVenture Instructor Recruitment

Aloha!  If you have a special talent or skill that you would like to share with our students, our EdVenture Program is looking for you!  We are looking to hire instructors for our after school enrichment program for the Spring 2017 semester.   Arts, crafts, gardening, sports, dance, fitness, voice, science, & technology are the different types of talents and skills we are looking for.  Previous background and experience preferred, classroom management essential.  Please contact Cecily Nago, PCNC for more information at 974-4855 ext 301.
